Rooms 10, 11 and 12 were analysing their data and deciding why the Underlay and the Bubble Wrap were the best insulators in our experiment. The students were also learning how to draw diagrams.
Next week the students have to insulate an empty can (baked beans, spaghetti etc) using whatever materials they choose, and can find to bring to school.
They will compete against each other to keep the hot water in their can the hottest in the class for 60minutes.
We also created raised templates, so we could make rubbings of them (in a way similar to the real Tapa creation we'd watched on Youtube). It was very challenging for the younger students twisting and sticking the foil, but we persevered and got some completed in the end. I think glue guns may be the answer ... Hopefully we will do the rubbings next week.
Thanks again to Melissa Wrenn for her wonderful help.
Our wonderful students celebrate their successes, our Assembly leaders do a great job, and Eleanor Smith tells the team about her "sponsored head shave' to raise money for Cancer victims. Look out for more info about this on our Proudly Parawai Facebook page and please give generously!!!
