Yesterday, in terrible weather conditions, our relay team won the Paeroa to Thames relay race for the second year in a row. Although they didn't beat their own course record (which they set last year) their time of 2 hrs 16 mins for the 28.7km was an incredible result. It was great to see that our regular Friday afternoon training sessions (which I enjoyed immensely) had really prepared the students for this challenging event. The photo shows Hunter on the final leg before he crossed the line with the whole team (shown left to right in the photo) Hunter, Graeme, Ryan, Torin, Alyssa, Courtney, Jade and Milo. Special thanks to Larissa who managed the runners on the day, Wouter who biked the trail with the students and all the parents who transported and supported the students throughout the race. Well done to everyone - Great team work!!

Our two judges, Mr Iles and Mrs Baty, said the the standard of speeches was very high and they enjoyed the wide range of topics, as did the audience.
