Gail Kaku, Maree Jamieson and Eleanor Lee - our "Water Sports Co-ordinators"
Look out for photos of these exciting activities on our Facebook page.
Most importantly, spot the picture of the staff relay team beating the parents and students in the final race of the Swimming Sports - Yeah right!!
Well done to Gail for running the 'Slip and Slide' every lunchtime, Maree for her awesome organisation of our School Swimming Sports and Eleanor for organising a fantastic and zany 'Water Sports' competition for those students not going to Centennial Pools. Three cheers also for our wonderful students & staff and their 100% participation in all three.
Parawai School's RECIPE for Success - The ingredients are our School Values
Respect
Emotional Intelligence
Co-operation
Integrity
Perseverence
Excellence
Teachers have been discussing these 'ingredients' in classes and in Monday's assembly Mr Iles (with help from Rm 6 students) was 'Master Chef' and launched our school RECIPE with all the students.
Please try it at home too!!
Art with Rm 12 and 15
On Wednesday and Thursday I took these two classes for the afternoon. In Room 12 we did a lot of creative experimentation, with our portraits, in wax and dye. Look out for some photos next week.
In Room 15 we experimented with mark making and made name flags with wax and dye. Well done to those students who were on task and showed great perseverence and integrity. Thank you to Tanya Crook, Gail Kaku and Trina Majurey who were a wonderful help in these sessions.
Photos coming up......
The students have now played all four games once, and they are now having a second go at the games we played in week 1. A lot of new skills and rules are being learnt by our Year 4's (who are new to the Middle Syndicate) and the older students are doing a great job in supporting them. Parents are warmly invited to come along and enjoy the fun (at 9.10am), please stay for our Middle Syndicate Assembly too at 10.am.
'Happy Birthday' to our birthday boys and girls (seen celebrating here with Mrs Hodgson and Mrs Lee - who have just turned 21 again!!).
Congratulations to this week's Values Certificate winners:
Caragh Pienaar, Hunter Rodgers, and Leah Foster.

This takes place on Wednesday 25th March. Please come along and try the items on for size. Just pop into your child's class and take them over to the hall for a fitting.
The art extension trip to the Wendy Pye, Sunshine Books Art exhibition.
This takes place on Thursday 26th March. The closing date to get replies in was Friday 20th and I have had a great response, so I am sorry but we might not be able to accommodate any more :( I will let students know on Monday 23rd.
Thank you to those parents who are providing transport and coming along to help. You will all be needed, so please come to school at 2pm on Thursday and we will sort out who is travelling with who.
