The two Middle Syndicate teams from Rms 6 and 14 work together to construct their models, using the amazing equipment provided by Kelvin the organiser. Our school hall was the prefect venue.
What do we need when we go for a walk in the bush?

Room 14 put their heads together to make a list then sorted their ideas.  On Friday Justine Baverstock from S.A.R. (Search and Rescue) will be visiting to talk to the students.
On Friday the whole school made Rewana bread to celebrate Matariki.  Each class made their own "bug" out of potatoes and water, let the mixture ferment used it to make their bread rise.  Each class made their bread in a different way and some even used bread makers... Our wonderful PTA also made soup for every class which was delicious.

Last Thursday, Rooms 6 , 14 and 15 shared their artwork and poems in assembly (Thank you to Will our photographer). We saw woven Matariki stars, van Gogh wheatfields and heard some cool poems.
Congratulations  to our certificate winners too, and our awesome presenters.

On Tuesday week 7 two teams of students from Rooms 6 and 15 will be taking part in the EPro 8 Science Challenge.  They will be working in groups competing against other science and technology whizz kids from other schools in the area.  Look out for photos of this event coming up.

Julie Crimmins-Crocker. Deputy Principal of Pārāwai  School.

I have been teaching since 1986 (in England and New Zealand) and I have been a Deputy Principal for over 15 years.
Two of my my passions are art and reading; and I also have a reputation for being a bit of a 'spelling guru' (I hope there aren't any errors in this blog!).
I have published two series of spelling books - "Cross Spell Crosswords" and "Practice with Puzzles (Harper Collins)", which are both used at Pārāwai School.

I also enjoy keeping fit; I swim 2 km a week, and each morning before work, I go for a run (with my dog Ruby).
